Welcome to FreshMedia!

We are a project of OpenMedia.ca and are focused on three big ideas:

1. To ignite a national conversation that re-imagines media and journalism in Canada.

2. To celebrate the exciting and innovative experiments in independent and public media currently underway.

3. To develop a crowd-sourced plan to support innovative and quality media and independent journalism.

To date, we’ve held two great large-scale community events that celebrated new forms of media in Vancouver. Our first, the FreshMedia Festival, was Oct 24 2009, and our second, the Fresh Media Olympics event, was on Feb 22.

Our team is currently brainstorming ways to connect media creators in Vancouver to create and support a truly vibrant media sphere in our great city. Stay tuned for upcoming networking events, workshops, and more!
