WHAT IS FRESH MEDIA?
We are a group of Vancouverites who are all about three big ideas:
1. To ignite a national conversation that re-imagines media and journalism in Canada.
2. To celebrate the exciting and innovative experiments in independent and public media currently underway.
3. To develop a crowd-sourced plan to support innovative and quality media and independent journalism.
To date, we’ve held several great large-scale community events, from our first Fresh Media unconference-style festival in October of 2009 to our Fresh Media Olympics event co-hosted with W2 to our current REMIXOLOGY salon series. Each event has been focused on celebrating new forms of media in Vancouver.
Our team is currently brainstorming ways to further connect media creators in Vancouver to create and support a truly vibrant media sphere in our great city. Stay tuned for upcoming networking events, workshops, and more!
